Kurt Peacock

Six years of working in the wine industry couldn’t keep Kurt Peacock away from the nursery business.

This San Diego native worked at a nursery while a sophomore at Bonita High School. He earned a BA in agricultural Science at Fresno State yet feels the best thing about his career is that he can help and teach people. If you don’t see him teaching regular Saturday classes then you’ll find this Pt. Loma employee busy with his assistant managerial duties. He also is responsible for the fruit tree department.

Kurt has been a consultant for Sunset Magazine (he advises the editors of the Sunset Western Garden Book – a resource we highly and frequently recommend) and teaches classes for the master Gardeners Program and different garden clubs and organizations. He joined Walter Andersen Nursery in 1999 and is a member of PTCA (Professional Tree Care Assn. of San Diego), and CRFG (California Rare Fruit Growers).
