Gonzalez
Landscape Designer
Alexandra
Gonzalez has a knack for mixing the oil and vinegar varieties
of the plant world and getting them to exist in harmony.
Pairing unusual plants to create unique planting combinations
is just one of her specialties. She has been a landscape
designer since 1998 and draws from vast knowledge of local
soils, microclimates and understanding of irrigation. Her
strength, she feels, comes from years of practical experience
with horticultural installations and landscape design in
the San Diego area.
Her enthusiastic love for plants inspires designs marked with
diverse plant combinations that lead to unusual and dynamic
vignettes.
Alexandra takes advantage of San Diego’s exceptional
climate in bringing together the unique and exotic to add an
individual look to any landscape theme, whether cottage garden,
tropical or avante garde. “San Diego’s climate
affords the use of a vast percentage of the world’s plants,
explains Alexandra.
Working with a client’s desired effect in mind and keeping
within traditional frameworks, she infuses seldom-used plants
to create an individual touch for her clients. “Your
landscape doesn’t need to look like your neighbors’,” she
advises.
Alexandra has a bachelor’s degree from USD and regularly
takes ornamental horticulture and arboricultural classes at
Cuyamaca College.
